Austin’s Honey Made bring back memories of legends like James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, and Earth Wind and Fire with their modern take on slamming primal soul and focus on their R&B roots. Having shared the stage with George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic, Sierra Leone Refugee Allstars, The Motet, Lee Fields, Roxy Roca and Flow Tribe, the band have already made quite a name for themselves locally, and are currently planning on rapidly expanding their audience beyond the Austin scene.

Out of Austin, Texas, The Capitol leads the funk back into the popular music landscape. The Capitol sound is a mix of old and new; a rebirth of the glory age of the funk of the 1970s when large ensembles like Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Tower of Power dominated the nation’s airwaves. The Capitol’s brand of funk is tailored to today’s listener through careful attention to pop-inspired songwriting while paying mind to the modern influence of hip-hop, R&B, and Neo-Soul.
