Papa Mali, New Orleans based musician, spawns raw vocals and haunting guitar representations of the blues side of the Mississippi Delta River and New Orleans funk. An innovative, hungry psychedelic sound meeting of an old, homeland breed of funk and blues. The lifelong dream to travel the world producing and performing great music alongside major players is now Mali’s reality. Papa Mali has recorded and toured with childhood idols like George Porter Jr. (The Meters), Bill Kreutzman and Robert Hunt (Grateful Dead) in projects like, 7 Walkers.

A deep and gritty gab gifts ingenious folklore story telling over the echoes of an elusively gripping, rhythmic and infectious guitar riffs and cranky Hammond blues. Papa Mali’s heritage can be traced to Louisiana rhythm blues and soul with a hypnotic psychedelic blend, infamously dubbed “bayou soul” or “voodoo space blues”.
