The Mutha’ of 60’s-70’s Rare Groove, Soul and Funk! Austin’s premiere purveyors of righteous rhythms . . . DYNAMITE soul, SUPERBAD funk . . . running hotter than a ’72 Eldorado on high octane.
Flyjack’s founding members – guitarist Buck McKinney and bassist Brad Bradburn – hail from the groundbreaking Austin alternative-jazz group Gnappy, which released 3 well-received albums between 2001 and 2006, and was featured in the 2003 book “Jambands” by Dean Budnick. Flyjack’s current line-up is rounded out by David Hunter Thacker (Keyboards), Jose Guitierrez (Drums), John Voss (Percussion), Paulo Santos (Sax), Mike Shields (Trumpet), Wyatt Corder (Trumpet) and Will Wright (Trombone).

Crawling out of the Bayou City’s steaming musical swamp over thirty years ago, Houston’s Killing Floor made a name for itself in the roadhouses and bars of the Gulf Coast with its soulful Texas take on the blues. Steeped in the swamp style of Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester, ‘lectrified by Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, and slingin’ Southern Soul like Joe Tex and Bobby Blue Bland, Killing Floor became the “house band” at venerable showcase venue Rockefellers, where it ruled the roost and shared stage with the likes of blues legends Taj Mahal, Gatemouth Brown, Koko Taylor, John Mayall and Bo Diddley. After a 10-year hiatus, Killing Floor has its MOJO WORKING once again, and reunites for this show!
