t is fair to say that The Peterson Brothers Band are fighting to keep the blues alive. The two young musicians, raised in Bastrop, Texas, play with a mastery and confidence far beyond their teenage years. When watching the Peterson brothers play live, I am routinely most taken and impressed by their joy.
The boys light up like Vegas, every song, every set, no exceptions. From snow white smiles to playful ribbing, the brothers are genuine in a way that is refreshing and their very apparent love for what they do is magnetic. Their first full length album was released in 2015 on Blue Point Records and they have been touring and playing festivals since.
Thus far, Glenn Jr. and Alex Peterson have played alongside and opened for blues greats, names among them include B.B. King and Buddy Guy. The brothers are obvious prodigies in the most practical sense of the word and have made a distinct mark on the Austin music community. The City of Austin has named a day after them (not-so-coincidentally the date is Stevie Ray Vaughan‘s birthday.)Â
